Hans Wolker

Hans Wolker (born November 16, 1914 in Vienna ; † December 8, 2000 there ; full name: Johann Franz Josef Wolker ) was an Austrian political journalist , resistance fighter and publicist .

Life

Hans Wolker joined the Socialist Workers' Youth in Austria at an early age . After February 12, 1934 he was a member of the KJV , later he worked together with Ernst Fischer in the Red Front , then he became a member of the KPÖ . During the war he joined a resistance group that operated within the German Wehrmacht . After the end of fascism, Wolker became a journalist, worked in the popular voice and specialized as an author on military and secret service topics. From 1970 to 1980 he was a member of the Central Committee (ZK) of the KPÖ. Hans Wolker worked together with Ernst Wimmer and Bruno Furch as editor among other things on the party organ Neue Politik . His best-known book deals with the stay-behind organizations and was published in 1993 under the title Shadow over Austria .

Wolker was buried in the family grave at the cemetery of the fire hall Simmering (group E14, number 4).
