Hans Wuttig

Hans Wuttig (* 1932 in Landsberg (Warthe) ) is a German painter .

Life

Hans Wuttig was born in Landsberg an der Warthe in what is now Poland in 1932. 1953 to 1957 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, among others with Richard Seewald . Until his retirement he taught art education at the Herzog-Christian-August-Gymnasium in Sulzbach-Rosenberg . In 1981 he co-founded the local artist group Gruppe 81 . Wuttig lives and works in Sulzbach-Rosenberg.

Wuttig mainly paints representational watercolors in the Impressionist style, but also experiments with other forms of representation.

Awards and grants

In 1995 he was honored with the culture prize of the city of Sulzbach-Rosenberg . In 2011, Wuttig was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon for his artistic oeuvre and for his services to the visual arts, especially the founding of Group 81 . In July 2013 he was made an honorary citizen of Sulzbach-Rosenberg.

Exhibitions

Wuttig exhibited in Nuremberg , Minden , Dornstetten , Carcassonne , Rumburg and Landshut , among others .
