Hans von der Putt

Hans von der Putt (also "Hans van der Putt", * around 1590 ; † 1653 in Kassel ) was a German die cutter and sculptor .

His best-known work is a bust of Gustav II Adolf of Sweden , which was cast in 1632 and for which he (according to Bolzenthal) was paid between 3,000 and 4,000 thalers . Putt worked in Nuremberg from 1618 to 1649 before moving to Kassel in 1650 , where he died impoverished. He signed his works with his name or with the initials "HVP".
