Hanse Sail
The Hanse Sail in Rostock is a large maritime event in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . In contrast to the Warnemünde Week and the Kiel Week, there are no regattas in the Olympic boat classes at the Hanse Sail . The only regattas are the Haikutter regatta, which takes place on the Nysted - Rostock route and the Hanse Sail regatta in various classes of traditional sailors on Saturday.

The first Hanse Sail took place from July 22nd to July 28th 1991 under the name Hanseatische Hafentage . The participation of the naval training ship Gorch Fock attracted many interested parties.

The Hanse Sail is an annual meeting of traditional sailors in Rostock. The Hanse Sail is a member of the Maritime Festivities Association on Germany's coasts . The event is also part of the Baltic Sail series , in which traditional sailors and tall ships head for Baltic ports in a coordinated manner in summer.
Tall and traditional sailors as well as cruise ships, ferries and other large seagoing vessels come to Rostock every year on the second weekend in August. During the Hanse Sail, the cruise port in Warnemünde is always busy. Cruise lines see a call during the Hanse Sail as a special highlight for their guests. The meeting of the sailing ships is accompanied by a folk festival with cultural and entertainment offers.
The Hanse Sail lasts from Thursday to Sunday. On Saturday evening, two high-altitude fireworks will be shot, one in Warnemünde and one in the city harbor at the same time .
