Hansen is an impact crater on the far eastern edge of the lunar front , east of Mare Crisium and northeast of Condorcet crater . The crater is little eroded and has pronounced terracing and a central mountain .

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the German astronomer Peter Andreas Hansen .
