Hansgeorg Molitor

Hansgeorg Molitor (born July 13, 1939 in Trier ) is a German historian .

He studied history and Romance languages ​​in Münster, Paris and Tübingen and did his doctorate with Ernst Walter Zeeden and qualified as a professor in Tübingen. Until 2004, Molitor was Professor of Rhineland State History and Modern History at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf . Popular piety of the early modern period is one of his main research interests .
