Hanspeter Hofmann

Hanspeter Hofmann (* 1960 in Mitlödi , Switzerland ) is a Swiss contemporary painter.

The influence of his earlier work as a chemical laboratory assistant can be seen in his work. Hofmann mostly uses colors for his works that change depending on the viewer's position and the incidence of light, and lines and cell structures appear on ostensibly white surfaces that are reminiscent of psychedelic patterns from the 1970s, such as images of skin cells and pathogens from the laboratory. Oscillating interference colors, mother-of-pearl and neon effects characterize his pictures. Hofmann lives and works in Basel .

Exhibitions

As part of certain themed projects, Hofmann's work and those of other artists have already been shown in various museums, such as the State Gallery of Modern Art in the Augsburg Glass Palace ( Against the Grain ), “Vom Schnee” in the Kitzbühel Museum, “Swiss made 2” in the Wolfsburg Art Museum and “artist rooms / collectors rooms” in the Art Museum St. Gallen .
