The Hanza Inlet ( Spanish Ensenada Hanza ) is a bay on the Oskar II coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula, frozen by the Larsen Ice Shelf . It is located west of Chapman Point on the north side of the Jason Peninsula .
Argentine scientists named the bay in 1978 after Alberto Hanza, who had served as a second lieutenant on the corvette Uruguay on survey trips from 1906 to 1907 . The United States Board on Geographic Names initially named the bay as Skvarca Inlet in 2008 , but rejected this after it became aware of the naming previously made by Argentina.
