Harald Kahl

Harald Kahl (born January 21, 1941 in Sondershausen ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and former member of the Bundestag.

Life

Kahl attended high school in his hometown of Sondershausen and graduated from high school in 1960. He then worked for a year and then began studying chemistry at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena . In 1972 he received his doctorate and worked for a year as a laboratory manager at the Hildburghausen Hospital . From 1973 on, he finally worked as laboratory manager in the Ronneburg district hospital , during which time he was recognized as a specialist medical chemist in 1980 . He ended his engagement as laboratory manager in 1990 to turn to politics.

Kahl joined the East German CDU in 1973 and volunteered on the party's district executive for many years. From January to August 1990 he was deputy state chairman of the CDU in Thuringia and then until 1994 president of the Ronneburg city council. In 1990 he entered the German Bundestag via the Thuringian state list , which he only left after the 2002 Bundestag election .
