Harald Link

Harald Link (born January 12, 1955 in Basel ) is a German-Thai entrepreneur.

Career

Link comes from an entrepreneurial family originally from Lübeck. He is the son of the lawyer Gerhard Link (1915–1995), who, together with his brother Herbert, was managing director of B. Grimm & Co. in Bangkok. After studying economics at the University of St. Gallen and completing an MBA , he joined the family company in 1979. In 1988 he took over the management of the company as CEO . He opened up the business areas of energy, production and infrastructure for the trading company and opened the doors for German-Thai joint ventures.

For his significant contribution to the development of German-Thai trade and economic relations, he was awarded the Cross of Merit on Ribbon of the Federal Republic of Germany in 1995 and the Cross of Merit 1st Class in October 2010.

He has been married to Maria Assunta von und zu Liechtenstein since April 1981 . The marriage had two children. He is President of the Thai Polo Club.

On the list of the richest people living in Thailand, according to the Forbes list, he is 23rd with USD 1.2 billion.
