Harald Voigt

Harald Voigt (born November 13, 1928 in Glückstadt ; † December 26, 2005 in Westerland , Germany ) was a chronicler of the island of Sylt and senior teacher .

From 1967, Voigt, who has lived on the island since his early youth, wrote regular articles and treatises on the history of Sylt, initially in particular on the era of seafaring. His most important publications and publications include The Sylter Weg ins Third Reich from 1977 and The Sylt Fortress from 1992, which have now become standard works of Sylt literature. In the 1980s and 1990s Voigt was chairman of the historical working group at the Nordfriisk Instituut for many years .

In 1988 Harald Voigt received the regional CP Hansen Prize .
