The Harbor Bluff is a 1,500 m high rock cliff in the East Antarctic Mac Robertson Land . On the Mawson Escarpment , it looms between the Helmore and Manning glaciers .
Aerial photographs taken in 1956 and 1970 as part of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions were used for mapping. In 1972 a geodetic surveying station was built here. The Antarctic Names Committee of Australia named the cliff in 1973 after Stephen Richard Harbor (* 1946), a diesel generator mechanic in 1970 and 1971 and a plant inspector at Mawson Station in 1973 , who was involved in surveying work in the neighboring Prince Charles Mountains during these years .
