Harbor Center is a skyscraper centrally located in the business district of downtown Vancouver , British Columbia , Canada . The revolving restaurant on the roof of the office building shapes the city's skyline and makes it a landmark overall. It is also considered one of the tourist attractions. From the platform you can get a view over the metropolis. The building was completed and opened in 1977.

The Harbor Center is located at 555 West Hastings Street. It is located near the shore and is very well connected to local public transport. In the immediate vicinity is the Waterfront Station , one of the important transfer and connection nodes with several lines of the operating company TransLink .
architecture
The Harbor Center was designed by WZMH Architects. It has 28 floors, with the top it corresponds to a building with 44 floors. The total height including the mast is 169 m, the tower structure itself rises 138.68 m, the office building measures 35.3 × 35.3 m at a height of 106.40 m. The viewing platform is approx. 121.50 meters high, the restaurant is approx. 5 m above it at approx. 126.50 m. The largest diameter of the tower head is 38.41 m. The building was the tallest structure in Vancouver until 2008/2009, when it was replaced with the completion of Living Shangri-La with over 200 meters. The partially glazed elevators take 40 seconds to drive up and run along the outside of the building facade.

The Canadian Coast Guard of Vancouver (Vancouver Coast Guard) operates a transmitting and receiving station in the building. She is responsible for ship traffic off the coast. Her responsibilities also include traffic regulations in the northern part of the Fraser River , Burrard Inlet, Indian Arm , English Bay and Howe Sound.
Tourist attraction
The revolving restaurant with the viewing platform was officially opened in a ceremony on August 13, 1977 by the US astronaut Neil Armstrong . Neil Armstrong, the first person on the moon, also left his footprint in concrete, which is now on display on the observation deck.
