Hard Skin is a British Oi! -Tape.

history

Hard Skin was founded in 1996 in Gipsy Hill , London . The founding members were the bassist Sean Forbes (Fat Bob), who initially worked as a singer in the punk band Wat Tyler , the guitarist and singer Ben Corrigan (in parallel with the anarcho-punk band Thatcher on Acid ) and the Drummer Chris Acland of the shoegazing band Lush . In October 1996, Acland died of suicide and was replaced by Scott Stewart.

Her first album Hard Nuts and Hard Cunts was released in 1996 in the United Kingdom, France and the United States. As a result, the band released several records, many of which were also sold abroad. The album Fucking Skins, Fucking Punks (2006), which received good reviews from Claudia Luck in the Ox-Fanzine in 2008 , was only released in Germany and Japan, for example.

style

The band's lyrics are somewhere between funpunk and Oi! Satire. The name is already ambiguous: “Hard Skin” stands for calluses , but it can also mean “hard skin” in the sense of hard skinhead .
