Knock Out Records

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Knock Out Records is a German independent label , which in particular Oi! - and marketed street punk. It is based in Dinslaken and has been active since 1988.

Label history

Dirk Hamann, nicknamed "Mosh", founded the label in 1988 initially as a pure hobby alongside his apprenticeship in concrete and reinforced concrete . From the mid-1990s he went into business for himself and can live from the label and distribution. The label specializes mainly in street punk and Oi! Bands from Germany, such as Oxymoron , 4 Promille , Sondaschule and Emscherkurve 77 , but also relies on international greats such as Klasse Kriminale and Charge 69 . Knock Out also licenses vinyl records from other labels, for example new editions of The Adicts , Cock Sparrer and Cockney Rejects from England, the Discocks and Bollocks from Japan and Discipline from the Netherlands.

The label publishes the sampler series Knock out in the… Round , on which the current bands are presented.

Hamann distances himself from right-wing extremism and right-wing rock , so he stopped contact with the Dim Records label in the 2000s , which expanded its distribution to the right-wing camp with bands such as Ultima Thule and Kampfzone and also sold some Knock Out bands .

With a Psychobilly label called Hellraizer and the Ska label Blackout , Dirk Hamann has founded two sub-labels so far.
