4 Promille is an Oi founded in 1997 ! - Band that split up ten years after it was founded for personal reasons. Initially founded as an Oi! - Band , both the lyrics and the musical skills have developed over the years, so that the band now sees itself in the punk rock area. The band reformed in 2012 and in 2014 released a new release called "Vinyl".

history

Until 1997, "4 Promille" was a solo project by singer and guitarist Volker Grüner, who between 1995 and 1997 brought out three CD releases under the same name as self-distribution. The 4-track EP The Boys Next Door was the first release with other musicians. In 1999, two years after its release, the EP was released by Dinslakener Punk - und Oi! -Label Knock Out Records re-released. In the same year appeared their official debut album in the next life two years, the successor to the same label, out And Down ... .

One year after the release of their third long player Alte Schule , the band declared on April 17th, 2007: “10 years is enough - 4 per thousand stop!” The statement went on to say: “Due to the personal decision of two members to leave the band, there will no longer be 4 per thousand in the future. Neither with the old nor with a different line-up, because it wouldn't be the same. ”On November 2nd, 2007 the group gave their farewell concert in Leipzig's Conne Island , which was recorded and later released on DVD.

In September 2011 the band had promised a one-time appearance for the "Spirit From The Streets Festival". They played in the original line-up, but without the substitute bassist Jost. In 2012 the band celebrated their official comeback, but without Volker Grüner, who wanted to concentrate fully on his new band The Porters - Martin is now playing in his place. The fourth, current 4 per mille album, Vinyl , was released on May 16, 2014 by the Essen label Sunny Bastards and entered the German album charts at number 64. In December 2015 Ziad had his last appearance with the band 4 Promille, this was announced on Facebook . In April 2016 Ziad formed a new band called FLEISCHWOLF.

On March 21, 2016, the band announced that they had found a new drummer in Sascha Gase. This had previously appeared at Emscherkurve 77 , The Porters and Sondaschule .

Distance from the right-wing scene

In the song Splitternackt , Volker Grüner distances himself from his former band Störkraft by denouncing Störkraft frontman Jörg Petritsch : “Jörg is an ass, Jörg is an ass, Jörg, he comes from Andernach.” In the song Lasst me alone , the band distanced itself again flat rate of radical political convictions ". right, left, shit, what the whole dirt" also on the band's website is a band info, where the band racism distanced itself: “[...] Whoever knows us knows what makes us tick. We are staunch anti-racists. [...] "
