Qinian Dian (Hall of Harvest Offerings)

The Qigu Tan (Altar of the Harvest Sacrifice) is an altar of the Temple of Heaven . It is in the north, the Huanqiu Tan (Sky Altar) in the south. They are connected by a 360 m long terrace, the "Bridge of the Red Palace Steps" (Danbi Qiao). Its main hall is the Qinian Dian (Hall of the Harvest Sacrifice), a three-story circular structure on a three-tier marble terrace. It was built by Emperor Yongle in 1420 , burned down in 1889, and was rebuilt in 1890. On the 8th day of the first month of the Chinese lunar calendar, the emperor asked for a rich grain harvest here.
