Moon altar

The moon altar or moon temple ( Chinese  月坛 , Pinyin Yuetan ) in Beijing city district Xicheng was in the time of the Ming dynasty created and used during the period of Ming and Qing dynasties by Kaiser to sacrifice purposes. At the opposite end of the city center is the Sun Altar ( Ritan ) in Ritan Park.

The moon altar has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (6-301) since 2006 .

The temple is located in Yuetan Park or Moon Altar Park (月坛公园).
