Harding is a relatively small impact crater on the northwestern edge of the front of the moon in the plain of Oceanus Procellarum , northeast of the Braun crater . The walls of the crater are terraced and show hardly any signs of erosion. The crater is surrounded by a bright ejecta ceiling .

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the German astronomer Karl Ludwig Harding .
