Harmen Sytses Sytstra

Harmen Sytses Sytstra (born January 14, 1817 in Midlum , † April 4, 1862 in Baard ) was a West Frisian poet .

Sytstra completed an apprenticeship as a baker, but later became a teacher. As a poet of romance committed he worked otherwise often satirical substances or fables . In addition to poems and stories, he wrote a comedy and a number of essays. His vision of a Greater Friesland is reflected in his work.
