The Harnasie Hill ( Polish Wierch Harnasie [ vʲɛrχ‿χarˈnaɕɛ ]) is a steep-walled and 250 m high hill on King George Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It rises between Vauréal Peak and Martins Head in the southern part of the Krakow Peninsula .
Scientists from a Polish Antarctic expedition named it in 1980. It is named after the ballet piece Harnasie by the Polish composer Karol Szymanowski (1882–1937). The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee transferred the Polish name to English in 1984.
