Harold Fern

Harold Fern ( April 20, 1881 - August 21, 1974 ) was a British swimming official .

Fern served from 1936 to 1948 as President of the World Swimming Federation FINA and from 1935 to 1939 as President of the European Swimming Federation LEN . As general secretary of the national umbrella organization Amateur Swimming Association, he shaped the English swimming sport for half a century.

Fern was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 1974 . The seat of the Amateur Swimming Association in Loughborough was named Harold Fern House in 1973.
