Harry Engau
Harry Engau (born September 21, 1925 ): A former German football player who played in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of GDR football , for the BSG Gera Süd in 1949/50 .
Athletic career
In the East Zone Football League, which later became the GDR Oberliga, which was first held in 1949, the Gera Süd company sports association was also part of the field. The 24-year-old Harry Engau was part of the Gera squad for the 1949/50 season. At the beginning of the season, Engau could hope for a regular place, because coach Erich Dietel used him regularly as a striker until matchday 7, who also scored a goal on matchday 1. During his seventh mission, however, Engau was injured so badly that he was out for the rest of the first half of the season. In the second half of the season he played the first three league games again, but then left the game for good. Even later he did not appear in national football events.
