Harry Foster (born March 20, 1898 in Rochdale , † 1980 ) was an English football player .

Career

The amateur player came to Rochdale AFC in the spring of 1922 from local club Sudden Villa , which competed in the Rochdale Amateur Football League . Shortly before, his Sudden Villa teammate George Hoyle had made his debut in the center-forward position at Rochdale . Foster came in early March 1922 on right winger in the two league games of the Football League Third Division North against AFC Barrow at Hoyle's side. Both games were lost 1-0, with Athletic News certifying that he had made “a good impression” on his debut . Foster soon disappeared back into amateur football; Rochdale AFC ended its premier season in the Football League meanwhile on the bottom of the table.
