Harry Maòr

Harry Maòr (born May 27, 1914 in Munich , † 1982 in Israel ) was a German-Israeli sociologist .

Life

In 1933 he emigrated to Palestine . 1953 to 1963 he was an editor and teacher in Germany. In 1960 he was awarded a doctorate with a thesis on the reconstruction of the Jewish communities in Germany since 1945. phil. PhD.

In 1970 he became professor of sociology in Canada. Since 1972 he has taught at the Department of Social Affairs at the University of Kassel (retired 1979).

After finishing his active career, he returned to Israel, where he died three years later.
