Harry Tañamor
Harry Tañamor (born August 20, 1977 in Zamboanga City ) is a Filipino boxer . He is a multiple medal winner in international light flyweight competitions (up to 48 kg).
Career
The southpaw Tañamor won the bronze medal at the 2001 and 2003 World Boxing Championships .
He took part in the 2004 Olympic Games for his country . Here he defeated Scheralij Dostijew from Tajikistan in the first round , but then lost his fight against the South Korean Hom Mu-won .
At the 2007 World Boxing Championships in Chicago , he won in the quarterfinals against local hero Luis Yáñez and in the semifinals against Amnat Ruenroeng from Thailand . In the final he had to admit defeat to the multiple world champion and Olympic third party from 2004 Zhou Shiming . By making it to the quarter-finals of the World Championships, he also secured a starting place at the 2008 Olympic Games . There he was eliminated in the first round against Manyo Plange from Ghana .
