Harry de Gorter
Harry de Gorter is an agricultural economist . He is a professor at Cornell University .
Life
De Gorter studied at the University of Guelph ( B.Sc. , 1975 and M.Sc. , 1977). His Ph.D. he received from the University of California, Berkeley in 1983 . Among other things, he worked for the Canadian Ministry of Agriculture and advised organizations such as the EU , FAO , G20 , IMF , OECD , UNCTAD , World Bank and WTO .
Scientific focus
De Gorter worked in the fields of agricultural and trade policy , applied welfare economics and new political economy . Among other things, he deals with biofuels and reforms of agricultural policy and their effects in the context of the Doha Round .
