The Hartensbergsee recreation park is a park with an inland lake in the municipality of Goldenstedt in the district of Vechta , Lower Saxony .
Description and history
The recreation park includes the 7 hectare swimming lake , the Huntetal campground and an open-air stage . The planning and implementation was carried out by the engineering and architecture office Mumm from Wildeshausen . The Hartensbergsee recreation park was opened in the summer of 1980 by the then Prime Minister Ernst Albrecht . In the spring of 2007 the park was fenced in by the responsible guest and tourist association Goldenstedt, in spite of the widely supported signature campaign. Since then, entry has been required on "summer days".
The center of the recreation park is the lake. About half of the lake is surrounded by a sandy beach. The lake is particularly popular with day-trippers in the summer months. The lake is surrounded by tall trees and has large lawns.
The HIZ (Hunte Information Center) has existed at Hartensbergsee since 2005. This exhibition building gives visitors an overview of the River Hunte . It is comprehensively informed about the history of the river as well as about flora and fauna. With the help of many exhibits, the visitor can get an idea of the river and its ecosystem.
Summer program
Since 2006 a paper boat regatta has been held every year on the grounds of the Hartensbergsee. On the second weekend in August, this event is organized and carried out by the local Schalke fan club Blue-White Indians under the name "Papp-Regatt". The family festival at Hartensbergsee has been taking place there since 2012, with the paper boat regatta being the highlight of the event. With the help of the community youth ring, the community Goldenstedt, the GUT and other sponsors, this event is developing into an integral part of the Goldenstedt summer program.
In addition, an electronic festival has been taking place on the Hartensbergsee site since 2013.
