The Harter Nunatak is a small and relatively isolated Nunatak in the West Antarctic Ellsworthland . It rises 6 km northeast of Mount Tidd on the northeast side of the Pirrit Hills .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1958 to 1961. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1964 after Gene L. Harter, a meteorologist at Little America V in 1957.
