Hartog Jacob Hamburger

Hartog Jakob Hamburger (also Hartog Jacob Hamburger ; born March 9, 1859 in Alkmaar , † January 4, 1924 in Groningen ) was a Dutch physiologist.

Hamburger studied at the University of Utrecht , where he also received his doctorate in 1883. He was then assistant to Franciscus Cornelis Donders and from 1888 lecturer in physiology and pathology at the National Veterinary School in Utrecht.

In 1901 he became professor of physiology at the University of Groningen , and in 1919 he was elected a member of the Leopoldina .
