Harvard Crimson
The Harvard Crimson (German: Karmesinrot ) are the sports teams of Harvard University . You play in Division I of the NCAA . In 2006, there were 41 teams for men and women, more than any other NCAA Division I college . Like the other universities in the Ivy League , Harvard does not offer athletic scholarships . The players are therefore amateurs .
The Harvard Crimson won the national championships in American football (12 times), golf (six times), soccer (four times), ice hockey and women's lacrosse (once each).
rivalry
There is a traditional rivalry between the teams at Yale University , the Yale Bulldogs . The meeting of football teams in particular has a long tradition.
