The match between Harvard ( Harvard Crimson ) and Yale ( Yale Bulldogs ) American football teams , known as The Game for short in American college sports , is a prestigious event with a long history.

So far this game has been played 126 times, the first time in 1875. This usually happens once a year as part of the Ivy League , but the game has not been played every year. In these 126 games there were 65 wins for Yale, 53 for Harvard and eight draws .

It is played alternately either in the Yale Bowl or in Harvard Stadium . It is usually the end of the football season and is played in November .

The game and its traditions can be compared to the famous Boat Race , the annual rowing regatta between the universities of Oxford and Cambridge in London .
