Harvey's is a Canadian fast food chain with branches mainly in southern Ontario , greater Montreal and the urban areas of Alberta . Hamburgers , hot dogs , french fries , onion rings and other traditional fast food dishes are served . The chain is owned by Cara Operations . Harvey's is the second largest Canadian fast food restaurant after Tim Hortons and the fourth largest in all of Canada.
history
The first fast food restaurant opened in Richmond Hill in 1959 . In 1962 the first branch opened in Toronto. In 1964 the number of branches rose to 27. They opened in Toronto, Niagara Falls, Ottawa, Montreal, Hamilton and Buffalo. In 1970 the merger with Industrial Growth Limited resulted in a re-establishment of the company Foodcorp. has led. In 1979, Cara Operations took over Foodcorp's branches. At that time, 80 branches had already been opened. In 1980 the first Harveys drive-through restaurant opened in Pembroke, Ontario .
