Pembroke, Ontario
Pembroke is a city in Ontario .
It is located in the Ottawa Valley about 150 kilometers north of the Canadian capital Ottawa. The city has 13,882 inhabitants (as of 2016). Pembroke is the administrative center of Renfrew County , but is itself independent. The area of the city is 14 km² and it is 130 m high.
Pembroke lies on the Ottawa River , which at this point also represents the border with Quebec. The other side of the Ottawa River can be easily reached through the "Pembroke Bridge" which, coming from Ottawa, lies before Pembroke itself.
The city is the largest commercial center between North Bay and Ottawa.
