Hasan Ābād

Hasan Ābād ( Persian حسن‌آباد) is a district and traditional trading district in the center of Tehran . It developed in the Qajar era and was named after the then Prime Minister Mirza Hassan Mostowfi ol-Mamalek . There are some government buildings near the area.

The quarter has a square of the same name, which was developed by the Armenian architect Ghelidj Baghelian and his civil engineer Leon Tadossian. It consists of four identical buildings, each taking up a corner of the square.

After the Islamic Revolution of 1979, the name was changed to 31st Shahriwar Square . Since then he has been known by both names. Some buildings have been renovated in recent years and two modern floors have been added.

The square can be reached by the Tehran subway .
