history

It was first mentioned in 1396 in the Leuchtenberger Lehenbuch . There it is reported that Rudlin Perncolo has “Zwen Hof zu Haselbrunnen”. An even earlier mention was made around 1200 by the chaplain Pullenreuth , who wrote that Haselbrunn had to deliver a third of the great tithe and the entire small tithe to the chaplain. In 1443 Paul von Hirschberg received the tithe of Haselbrunn as a fief from the Count Palatine. The next change of ownership took place in 1483, Paul Puchfelder received two farms in Haselbrunn. The first information on the size of the village can be found in the tax book of 1714 : “Haselprun 1 Gut underm dorf Lochaw; 4 cattle ".
The living conditions in Haselbrunn must have been pretty bad, as evidenced by a letter from America by an emigrant from Haselbrunn:

We received your letter of September 26, 1886 from our brother and sister-in-law , and we saw that there was no better word for eug since 1881 at eig was. Wendu would have sold everything the same time and would have traveled America with me believe yourself that you would be better off today than in Germany. Ig also see in your letter that you want to hand over the property to your Johann but soon owe 15 hundred guilders. There is no Aussigt for your Togter and also not for dig and especially for your Katharina write all exactly from a to z to find out whether it was better to come to America with your whole family [...] "
