The Hasenburg is an abandoned castle in the municipality of Butjadingen in the Wesermarsch district in Lower Saxony .
construction
The site of the castle is an approximately round pedestal that has a diameter of about 75 m. The platform stands out 1.5 m from the surroundings.
history
No historical sources are known about the Hasenburg.
archeology
The only archaeological findings about the Hasenburg come from two inspections in 2008 and 2011. In 2008 three iron cannonballs with a diameter of 6.2, 6.8 and 7.8 cm were found while cleaning trenches . In 2011, ceramic shards were found, which were determined to be hard gray goods of the late Middle Ages and yellow hard earthenware . In addition, it was found clay with wattle pull the trigger, a whetstone fragment and a fragment of a cutlery handle made of metal.
