Hatice Sultan

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hatice Sultan (خدیجه سلطان / Ḫadīce Sulṭān ; * around 1494 in Edirne ; † November 2, 1538 in Istanbul ) was an Ottoman princess and daughter of Sultan Selim I and Hafsa Sultan . She was the sister of Suleyman I.

Life

When she was young, Hatice may have married Iskender Pasha , who was executed in 1515. Whether she was married to Ibrahim Pascha , the “bosom friend” and Grand Vizier of Sultan Suleyman I, is controversial.
