The Hatzenturm is a tower castle at 580 m above sea level. NN high slope edge in the district Hatzenturm of the municipality Wolpertswende in the district of Ravensburg in Baden-Württemberg .
The hilltop castle was probably built in 1128 (a Filius Hattonis was mentioned) by the knights of Hatzenturm, a sideline of the Lords of Fronhofen, who called themselves von Königsegg from the middle of the 13th century . In 1419, Hans von Königsegg, son of Eberhard, sold the Hatzenturm Castle and the Wolpertswende church to the Heilig-Geist-Spital Ravensburg. The 18 meter high residential tower ( keep ) of the tower castle has a base area of 9 by 9 meters and a wall thickness of 2.50 meters.
