House Dassel is a castle-like residential building in the village of Allagen in the Sauerland town of Warstein , North Rhine-Westphalia , and is a listed building .

history

The factory owner Viktor Röper had the building built as a residential and office building in 1841. After the bankruptcy of his iron and chain works, the marble manufacturer Georg Dassel took over the house from a branch of the von Dassel family in 1887 and had it expanded and renovated in a representative way. In 1900 the tower was built, new office space was created and the sides were decorated with stepped gables . In 1972 the then independent municipality of Allagen acquired the property. Two years later, the factory building on the site was demolished and the site was converted into a park. The villa was listed as a historical monument in 1984. Today the building is used as a club house and a local museum . In the museum rooms, among other things, handicraft and agricultural tools, equipment and machines are exhibited. There is a home parlor on the upper floor of the museum .
