The house Ferrum (proper name: FeRRUM - world of iron ) in the market town of Ybbsitz in the district of Amstetten in Lower Austria is a museum about the history of the metal iron as a permanent exhibition with interactive elements. The museum offers an area for special exhibitions on the far-reaching topic of iron. In addition to the themed exhibitions, the museum deals with the history of the market town of Ybbsitz.

history

The house Ferrum was reopened in 2006, after strong support from the promoter of the commercial councilor Waltraud Welser in the restoration and re-adaptation of the building. Before the adaptation to the Iron Museum, only the history of the market town of Ybbsitz was presented in the building formerly known as the Kremayr House.
