The house at Kleinschulenburgerpolder 5 is a listed building in the East Frisian city ​​of Norden , in Lower Saxony . It is listed as an individual monument in the register of cultural monuments in the city of Norden .

history

The building is a gulf house of the East Frisian type with a typical outdoor area. In the 1990s the company managed 46 hectares of land. The original barn was probably built in the 1780s, the residential end was renewed in 1842. Grain used to be stored on the upper floor. When the Klein Schulenburgerpolder was bought by a larger company in 2011, the agricultural use of the courtyard came to an end. Between 2013 and 2014, the residential building was renovated and four holiday apartments were installed . The owner took part in the 2014 Open Monument Day .

architecture

The building complex is surrounded by a park-like garden. The barn part has a hipped roof in the west and the typical barn door on the north side. The drawn-in brick building with a two-storey residential part in the east has high-rectangular block-frame windows with lattice structure based on historical models and, on the upper floor, hinged windows. The rectangular entrance with a flat triangular gable over wooden pilasters is located in the middle on the eastern side of the gable . The central corridor is covered with historical sandstone slabs. The arched oven niches have been preserved. The original color version of the wooden beamed ceiling and the wooden plank floor was restored.

The building is privately owned and is therefore not open to the public.
