The residential building Pesterwitzer Straße 25 is a listed building in the Freital district of Wurgwitz in the district of Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains , which was previously used as a school building and housed the first school in the district.

history

The community of Wurgwitz built the school building with two classrooms in 1873. Before that, the children were taught in Kesselsdorf . At the time of the opening there were 40 school children in Wurgwitz and Kohlsdorf . The two classrooms proved to be too small in the long run, so in 1908 a larger building with three classrooms was built with the new school . The mayor's office and the savings bank opened in the old building. Since the opening of the Wurgwitzer town hall , to which these facilities moved, it has been a purely residential building. Today the former school is in private hands.
