The Haus Sindlingen is an event building in Frankfurt district of Sindlingen . It was the early 1960s in the style of brutalism from Frankfurt architect Günter Bock as a community center designed the district and is located at a central location at the station Frankfurt-Sindlingen .

Today the building is one of his most important and important works. With the laying of the foundation stone in 1961, it was one of the first district town houses in Germany.

The building was placed under protection as a cultural monument .

history

1973 to 1974 the building became famous throughout Germany when several trials against Astrid Proll and other terrorists of the Red Army faction took place there. For security reasons, the community center was turned into a "fortress"; it was only reopened for public events a few months after the negotiations had ended.

In 1979 the 1st Federal Assembly of the SPV (Other Political Association) Die Grünen was held. People present included Joseph Beuys and Petra Kelly . The result of the meeting was the founding resolution of the party The Greens.

In 1981 the house was extensively modernized. The concrete with the filigree wood structure was partially removed and the facade, which was originally made of exposed concrete, was painted with paint.
