House Wilsdruffer Strasse 42
The house at Wilsdruffer Straße 42 was a baroque residential building in Dresden . The building was built between 1620 and 1690 and destroyed in 1945.
According to Stefan Hertzig , a third oriel floor was added to the lower two floors of the 17th century in 1742. The top bay was decorated with two heavy pilasters with Ionic capitals. A "sculptural excellent" hanging carpet carved out of stone adorned the parapet, and in the entablature frieze there was a rough cartouche. According to Stefan Hertzig, the cloth relief formed the "artistically most valuable part".
The Berger pastry shop and café were located on the ground floor; other business tenants in the house were the Otto Hahn Optical Institute and the watch and jewelry dealer Julius Seidel.
