House of Encounters (Ennepetal)
The House of Encounter , postal address Lindenstrasse 8 , is a listed villa in the Ennepetal district of Voerde . It was built in 1835.

The building was erected in the center of Voerde by the builder Eduard Spannagel as a residential building in the classical style. It is a plastered structure with two storeys and a strictly symmetrical facade structure and a flat hipped roof . The front facade, which has been withdrawn from the street, has five window axes with a stucco frame and small roofs . The main entrance is in the center of the facade and has a skylight and a canopy that is placed on consoles .

After use as a residence, the building served from 1908 to 1937 as the official home of the Office Voerde . In this function it was replaced by today's Ennepetal town hall . The Ennepetal city archive was housed there until recently. Today, as the House of Encounters, it is the location of the Voerde branch of the Ennepetal city library with a stock of around 10,000 volumes with a focus on children's books , novels , travel guides and advisory literature . In addition, it is used as an event location and as a youth camp in Hasperbach .
