The house of Sheikh ol-Eslam ( Persian خانه شیخ الاسلام, IPA : xɑnɛ jɛ ʃɛjxolɛslɑm ) is a historic house in the Iranian city of Isfahan . The house is one of the most beautiful historical houses in the city and dates from the Qajar era . It has a large yard . The house consists of two parts. The parts of the building are on the north and south sides of the courtyard and are designed according to an unusual plan . The building is different from other historical houses in Isfahan. The courtyard was originally built as a tekiyeh for religious ceremonies. Parts of the house are on the north side of the courtyard behind a magnificent veranda with a variety of decorations, such as stucco , mirror decorations and muqarnas . Opposite the northern veranda are a houz and two flower gardens. In the south-western part of the house there is a small courtyard which is connected to the main courtyard by a narrow corridor .
