The House with the Chimeras ( Ukrainian Будинок з химерами / Budynok s Chymeramy ; Russian Дом с химерами ) is a building in Kiev , the capital of Ukraine . It is named after the grotesque chimeras on its facade.
The building was built in the Art Nouveau style between 1901 and 1902 by the architect Władysław Horodecki , also known as " Gaudí of Kiev" .
Since 2005 the house has served as the residence of the Ukrainian President for hosting official and diplomatic receptions.

The house with the chimeras is located in downtown Kiev on Wulyzja Bankowa ( Вулиця Банкова ) 10 near Villa Liebermann and opposite the Presidential Office of Ukraine .
The building is built into a slope. Seen from the front, the house appears to have only three floors, but in reality it has six floors. On the lowest floor there are two stables, two rooms for coachmen, two apartments and a laundry room. The two apartments each consist of a foyer, kitchen, bathroom and storage room as well as two or three rooms. The floors above each consist of an apartment.
