Haussaire (family)

The French Haussaire family produced sculptors , carpenters and glass painters who became known nationwide. The family was originally based in Reims .

In 1874 François et Ernest Haussaire founded the Haussaire Frères (Haussaire brothers) company at 22 rue Lesage in Reims. It specialized in church furnishings such as leaded glass windows , sculptures and pews . At the end of the 19th century, the company was one of the most important in its branch in France. The company, which was represented at the world exhibitions in 1878 , 1889 and 1900 , went out after the death of Ernest in 1905.

Clément Haussaire , presumably the father of Ernest and brother of François, who originally also worked in the family business in Reims, founded his studio in 1899 at no. 59 ter rue Bonaparte in Paris .

An Ernest Haussaire had a glass painting studio in Lille around 1900 .
