Haworthia blackburniae is a species of the genus Haworthia in the subfamily of the Affodil family (Asphodeloideae).

description

Haworthia blackburniae grows without a trunk and forms clumps with spindle-shaped roots . The 10 to 15 long, slender leaves form a rosette with a diameter of 1 to 1.5 centimeters at the base. The bright green to brownish green or dark grayish green leaf blade is up to 40 centimeters long and 0.3 to 0.5 centimeters wide. The top of the sheet is runny. The leaf margins are glabrous or finely thorny.

The inflorescence reaches a length of up to 30 centimeters and consists of 15 to 20 flowers. The flowers are white and have green veins.

Systematics and distribution

Haworthia blackburniae is widespread in the Western Cape province of South Africa.

The first description by Winsome Fanny Barker was published in 1937.

A distinction is made between the following varieties :

  • Haworthia blackburniae var. Derustensis M.B.Bayer
  • Haworthia blackburniae var. Graminifolia (GGSm.) MBBayer
